SERC researcher Captain (Ret.) William M. Shepherd received the 2023 Chinn Award from the National Defense Industrial Association at their annual Future Force Capabilities Conference. Shepherd serves on the SERC Advisory Board and co-manages the Capstone Marketplace.

As the new Editor-in-Chief of the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK), Dr. Nicole Hutchison shared her thoughts on the importance of the online resource and her vision for its future as systems engineering evolves and expands.

A SERC research team led by Dr. Michael Orosz (University of Southern California) embedded with the Space Force to improve the space-based systems acquisition process through adoption of agile and DevSecOps methodologies.

At the 33rd Annual International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) International Symposium in Honolulu, SERC researchers presented on digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, and other prominent topics. 

SERC CTO Tom McDermott was honored by the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) as a thought leader in the field. He joined several other SERC researchers who have been recognized as INCOSE Fellows.
